Responsibilities |
· Leading the delivery of the medical provision to Bradford Bulls Academy and Reserves Squad. · Examination and diagnosis of injuries of Academy and Reserves players in a timely and effective manner. · Planning and execution of treatment and rehabilitation programmes to effect recovery in a timely manner. · Ensuring accurate recording of players injuries, their treatment and progress. · Provide medical provision for additional pathway programs, when appropriate. · Attend all Academy and Reserves squad training and match days. · Design and implement workshops on player education programmes as required – Concussion / Injury Management etc. · Update your knowledge and best practice for all rugby related injuries and rugby related medical rehabilitation issues, medicines etc. · Complete written reports as required by the Head Coach on player injury progress. (weekly updates) · Update all medical records on our MiPro Note taking Software within a timely manner. · Update all concussion record sheets at earliest opportunity. · Develop and implement injury prevention protocols. · Attend RFL (Governing Body) Medical Conferences. · Liaise and work with medical and fitness staff on all issues related with the playing structures. · Provide support to club staff as required. · Assist the conditioning staff to manage short and long-term injuries, using appropriate protocols. · Game day duties include pre-game strapping and individual player preparation, and pitch side cover. · Maintain professional working relationship as per governing body regulations (Players / Staff and Parents) · Responsible for always following the club’s code of conduct and ensure that other members of their team do likewise · To act in accordance with the club’s core documents and policies at all times with reference to the strategic aims and objectives as detailed in the Academy strategic document. |
Essential/Desirable Skills/Attributes |
Essential
· Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy/Sports Therapy or Sports Rehabilitation · IMMOFP / ITMMiF L4 or PHICIS L2 qualification · Be a member of a relevant chartered society or equivalent. · Leadership and influencing Skills · Willing to travel for fixtures · Strong Passion and Drive for development · Strong organisational and administration capabilities · Computer competence · Effective communication skills · Ability to work under high pressure and time constraints · Committed to self-professional development and upskilling the surrounding MDT (multidisciplinary team) · Willing to undertake a DBS check · Flexible and available to be reactive to changing of schedules as per club’s requirement Desirable · Further qualification(s) in a related sports medicine field · Experience in a sporting environment · Understanding of Sports Science and Nutrition · Experience working pitch side in Rugby League Some travel to other locations required.
